Innovative and successive average trend analysis of temperature and precipitation in Osijek, Croatia

This paper examines monthly, seasonal, and annual trends in temperature precipitation time series Osijek during the period between 1900 2018. Two new methods, innovative trend analysis (ITA) successive average methodology (SAM), together with classic Mann–Kendall (M–K) Sen’s slope have been applied to determine potential variables at different scales. Moreover, decomposition using locally estimated scatterplot smoothing (STL) was conducted trend, seasonality, relationship components of each variable. Regarding air temperature, ITA showed a monotonic positive relatively low (T ? 10 °C) high ? 13 ranges all seasons, excluding spring. A also found medium range this season, which agrees results M–K test. The highest obtained January, second April. According acquired for observed series, it discovered that has experienced decreasing spring precipitation. However, there is no 5% significance level. Differing from results, shows both autumn seasons. Summer increases significant change precipitating levels (p 100 mm). Comparing pairs partial historical precipitation, our show peak trough change-points are very close other, indicating slight negative over past century.
